The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum was founded in 2008 by Miami-Dade College. The museum is named after its major donors, Patricia and Phillip Frost. The museum's collection consists of over 6,000 works of art from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The museum has a focus on contemporary art from Latin America, with a significant portion of its collection coming from Cuba. In addition to its exhibitions, the museum also offers educational programs for children and adults.
