Dolphin Mall

Dolphin Mall is a mega shopping mall in Doral, Florida, United States. It is the biggest retail outlet in Miami-Dade County with more than 240 stores. The Dolphin Mall opened on August 28, 2001.

The layout of the mall was inspired by the traditional Arabic souk, with a central courtyard and covered walkways connecting the different store sections. The Dolphin Mall features several anchor stores, including Burlington Coat Factory, JCPenney, Macy's, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH. In addition to these major retailers, the mall also has a variety of specialty stores, restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, and an indoor rock-climbing wall.

History

The Dolphin Mall was developed by the Taubman Company. Construction of the mall began in August 1999 and it opened on August 28, 2001. The mall was originally intended to be a luxury shopping destination, but the 9/11 attacks caused a shift in focus towards more affordable retailers. In 2006, the Taubman Company sold the Dolphin Mall to Simon Property Group.

Location

Dolphin Mall is located in Doral, Florida, just west of Miami International Airport. It is easily accessible from major highways such as Interstate 75 and the Florida Turnpike.

Dolphin Mall is also home to the Miami International Merchandise Mart, a wholesale market for vendors and retailers. The Miami International Merchandise Mart is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm.

Events

Dolphin Mall hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including fashion shows, car shows, and holiday celebrations. The mall also has an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts and other live performances.

How To Visit

Dolphin Mall is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday from 11am to 8pm. Parking is available on-site and is free for the first two hours with validation. Dolphin Mall is accessible by bus, taxi, and rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft.
